PLQ

What did you
expect? I'm from
another fucking
planet.
PLQ follows...
Well, it seems I’ve done the Tumblr tests that I intended to do. What I mean is, the posts are all there and accounted for. Only, they’re written a little bit… oddly. And I have no memory of making them. Appears I have just come out of some sort of mono-hemispherical, reverse-time brain schism. Hate it when that happens! Actually, I have already misled you: this was the first time this particular type of loop has happened. At least, for me. Which I suppose might mean it will be the last time — for him. I’m wondering now where my new ‘old friend’ went. You are probably just wondering, ‘Why?’

Let’s just say that if you aren’t a time traveller, or haven’t come from a different planet, then this blog is Not For You. You can stop with all the reading. No, really.

Alright, you can stay, but if you know of any time travellers… et cetera.

P.S. ‘SUBSIST ON THIS’?

Found this note on a nearby device when I awoke this time. That’s a great tip, BTW: Explore devices. No matter where you land in this world, you will almost surely find close at hand some method of abstracting your thought process so that you can look at it more objectively — even if it is just a notepad. Make a beeline for these communications systems. They are frequently new and undervalued. As an outsider, they represent your best chance of locating your niche.

As a post-sider, you must already at least suspect that the distinction between the things you can carry around in your head, and the things you can inscribe upon the universe at large, is a false one. Which is why, of course, you must start ‘lifestreaming’, as they begin to call it here. Communications and record-keeping have classically been considered to be two separate things on this world, with considerable effort expended reiterating information simply for the purpose of relocating it in someone else’s mind. But it has just become barely possible, with devices like that pictured above, to erase this absurdly placed division of labour, at will.

Most of the natives can afford to overlook this efficiency for now, because the society was built for them. You can’t. You need to juggle the shifting memories of a dozen pasts and a hundred futures, and it won’t all fit inside a human brain currently too linear for the choppy seas you’ve chosen to navigate. If you don’t keep a change-resistant record by dropping buoys as widely as you can, you will lose your world-rudder, and sink back into the biology and ideology of your host, and live a ‘normal’ early 21st century life. Avoid this. Your extraordinary ability to anticipate and cross timelines is useless to you, if you never leave your own. So, start mapping. Where have you been? And where do you think you might be going? And don’t just ‘put it’ online. Do it online.

As you are likely already aware (unless your awakening has been very recent), your first investigation needs to be into how to exist in a world physically without being rooted in it physically. An unfortunate side effect of the Fathoming, for some, is a strange emotional disconnect from the host’s fate, as if you have no self-preservational instinct. Don’t count on that kicking in. Your biology is not your own.

What you want is a direct, wireless socket connection from your mind to the ideations of the culture, and then to snatch your living out of that link, i.e. out of thin air. The electromagnetic spectrum here is choked with feeding opportunities, for a rayivore, even if in the form of a classified ad on a web page. You can subsist on this alone, if you jump through it with both feet, into the ether ecology beyond.

I’m telling you this, because you need to be able to survive this world intact, before you can help me with the saving it and everything. I’m about to show you how.
